Sometimes a single thought can produce a chain reaction of events. Often, one inventor or theorist will build off of a previous notion, and produce something that is transformative. Without the exploitation of contemplation, the world we live in today would be vastly dissimilar from our perceived reality. The inventional and theoretical oddities I create stem from true ideas of our past, present and perhaps future. It is my aim to stimulate the viewer and provoke the action of thought of how humanity arrived to our existing civilization, and where we may head to next.
By way of researching an array of theorist, inventors, archeologist, and conspirators, concepts are derived to create my perceived works. In return, a symposium of assemblages is created using common materials in a nonsensical way, just as a theorist and an originator would divert from the traditional path of thought.
A common filament, which can be found throughout all my work, is the complex substance of glass. The material majority of the compositions are not glass, yet glass is the main factor, thus driving the statement of the work to become a true concept. With the implementation of glass, the found objects become more than objects. Rather, the objects are bound together, through glass, to make a solid concept. Without glass, just as without a community of thought, my work would be a mere assemblage, as opposed to honoring the revolutionist of the mind. As technology is not the parent of human activity, rather the after-thought, it is the imagination that drives to create the content of my artifacts; or the imagination of a story, which keeps the tale alive. The challenge counts insofar as man perceives it, as well as the innovation it took to create the modern result.
